ABSTRACT
The article reports on the rising number of institutional investors and hedge funds in the United States which are investing in the energy exploration and prospecting and pipeline industries. Among energy firms that sold shares to private placement are E&P PetroHawk Energy and Dune Energy. The hedge fund Alerian Capital Management has purchased shares of Plains All American Pipeline.
