SEC to Reconsider Proposals on Fund Point-of-Sale Disclosure, Soft Dollars

The article reports on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans' to reconsider proposals concerning to performance budget for 2006. These proposals were the proposal to limit the use of so-called soft dollars arrangements between broker-dealers and mutual funds, the proposal that would require broker-dealers selling mutual shares, unit investment trusts, and municipal fund securities. The SEC has also proposed reforms for the mutual fund disclosure regime.
