ABSTRACT

The article reports that British household cleaning and over-the-counter (OTC) medicines producer Reckitt-Benckiser has been speculated as a bidder for Consumer Healthcare, the OTC medicines arm of Pfizer, in 2006. Reckitt was said to have engaged advisors including banks Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse to arrange financing for the deal. However, Reckitt would have to raise a significant amount of money from shareholders to complete the deal.
