ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the life and career of Alain Bouchard, president and CEO of Alimentation Couche-Tard. Bouchard launched his celebrated convenience store career before he was out of his teens, at a Perrette Dairy store, where he rose through the ranks to district manager. Later, with the Canadian supermarket giant Provigo Inc., Bouchard helped to launch a convenience store chain. Next, he purchased his own store, a Provi-Soir franchise, then moved on to start his own company in 1980 with three partners, who remain with him to this day.
