ABSTRACT
The article focuses on some criticisms on literary realism. Critic Rick Moody claimed that a realistic novel is dull in his reviewing of the novel "Elizabeth Costello." On the other hand, author Patrick Giles emphasized that the issues about fiction and realism is laughable. Realism is broad and it cannot be a genre because it makes other forms of fiction like subgenres.
