ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of Dollar General Corp. for the fourth quarter of 2005. The profits of the company rose 8.5 percent to 145.3 million dollars from 133.9 million dollars in 2005. The increase was mostly due to new store openings and an extra week of sales. Economic pressure slowed the business of the company during the Christmas season.
