ABSTRACT
The article reports on the growth of the Asia Pacific region that encompasses Australia and New Zealand as a hot spot for production of big feature films. Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings put New Zealand front and center on the Hollywood map, and the region remains there thanks to a steady stream of features including Jackson's latest, Universal's King Kong; as well as Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
