The article discusses the construction of a new $350 million, 1,000-room hotel in Phoenix, Arizona with an official groundbreaking scheduled for March 28, 2006. The hotel's construction is financed by revenue bonds issued by the Downtown Phoenix Hotel Corp. in December. The 31-story facility is owned by the city but managed privately as a Sheraton by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., and is scheduled to open in fall 2008, just across from the Phoenix Convention Center.
