ABSTRACT
This article reports on the decision of Internet loyalty program FreeRide to launch several incentive programs for its members as of July 12, 1999. The company launched its new GasCash program that allows its members to spend their points with a FreeRide-branded debit card. The card can be used at 16,000 U.S. gas stations, which include Exxon Corp., Mobil Corp. and Texasco. FreeRide also introduces a program called Supermarket Cash. Members who register for a grocery debit card can use accrue points toward purchases at more than 20,000 grocery stores and 14 major chains nationwide.
