ABSTRACT
The article discusses the status of several legislation affecting the bond market in the U.S. The Hurricane Katrina Tax Relief Act of 2005 has been signed into law. It eases the use of single-family mortgage revenue bonds in disaster impact areas. The Fiscal 2006 Tax Reconciliation Act is currently in conference. The act allows state and local governments to issue pooled financing bonds.
