The new superfoods

This article offers information on the foods that under the superfoods concept popularized by Steven Pratt in his book "SuperFoods Rx." The theory behind superfoods is that certain foods do more than deliver a lot of nutrients--they are mother lodes of healthy compounds that promote longevity by possibly protecting against cancer, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and even dementia. Superfoods include apples, avocados, cinnamon, chocolate, kiwifruit, olive oil and pomegranates.
