ABSTRACT
The article presents trends and developments in the environmental management sector in the U.S. Former Republican Congressman Pete McCloskey, the author of the 1974 Endangered Species Act, plans to run against Representative Richard Pombo (R-Calif.). A federal grand jury indicted 11 alleged members of the Earth and Animal Liberation Fronts on terrorism charges. The federal Bureau of Land Management has given companies like: Oil Shale Exploration, Oil-Tech, Chevron Corp., ExxonMobil Chemical Co., Shell Oil Co., and EGL Resources, to investigate whether oil shale production is commercially feasible. The Arizona State Land Department will be auctioning off land for development.
