ABSTRACT
The article reports that investment bankers are optimistic that 2006 will provide even bigger advisory fees, compared to 2005, as the merger activity expands because of the participation of corporate buyers. Private equity firms have previously accounted for most of the merger investments. However, strategic buyers are expected to get in because of the growing amounts of cash in their balance sheets.
