ABSTRACT
This article looks at the current sex education given to children in British schools and the rights of parents to know what their child is learning from the schools. Research shows that even though children receive good information and skills about contraception, it has little impact on their sexual behavior. Sex education needs to focus on the nature of social encounters that might lead to sex rather than the sex act and the curriculum needs to be tailored to the child's age.
