ABSTRACT
This article reports on the selection of Brierly & Partners as the direct marketing agency of the international airlines consortium Star Alliance in 1999. The consortium chose the Dallas, Texas agency over contenders that included BBDO Worldwide, Foote, Cone & Belding and Young & Rubicam's Wunderman Cato Johnson. Brierley has specialized in creating loyalty programs for the retail and travel industries and that expertise will come into play for the Star Alliance. The main objective is to help increase communications among the individual loyalty programs with the alliance.
