ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the ability of Extreme CCTV all-environment cameras to capture a rare footage of the eruption of Mount Erebus in Antarctica. The company's MX4 Mechanical Filter LXR image sensors were used to capture video eruption sequences of Mount Erebus located on the edge of the Ross Ice Shelf. The resulting video was transmitted via wireless links to a remote monitoring station and then relayed via satellite to the Geochronology Research Laboratory in Socorro, New Mexico.
