The article discusses the electronic monitoring systems on irrigation pumping units. An immediate text message will be sent to the cell phone if the engine shuts down. A sensor can also be added to the system that will monitor the fuel level of the engine. The system can shut down the pumps and turn it on remotely. Stan Jones, one of the first producers in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to adopt the system, shares his experience in using this technology.
