Reports on the emergence of a niche market for alternative fueled vehicles (AFV) on Long Island, New York. Collaboration among Long Island Lighting Co., the Greater Long Island Clean Cities Coalition and local industry to develop the AVF technology; AVF research and development efforts at educational institutions including the State University of New York at Farmingdale and New York Institute of Technology in Westbury.
