ABSTRACT
The article provides an update on the same-store sales of retail companies in the U.S. Same-store sales for key American companies came up short in February 2006. Retail companies such as Bon Ton Stores, Costco Wholesale Corp. and Gottschalks Inc. have fell short by varying degrees in the same month. Stein Mart Inc.'s same-store sales has dropped off by 8.5 percent in 2006, compared with a 6.2 percent increase the year before.
