The article provides an update on the same-store sales of retail companies in the U.S. Of the twenty-two retailers, ten have recorded declines in sales in February 2006. Home fashion manufacturers such as Dillard's Inc., JCPenney and Stein Mart Inc. all reported strong sales of home goods. However, Saks Inc. reported a drop of its same-store sales by 6.7 percent. The winter storm that swept through the Northeastern states during the month was blamed for some of the shortfall.
