ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of Check 21 legislation on the check processing industry. This legislation would remove certain legal obstacles and would facilitate the use of check truncation and electronic collection of return checks. Check 21 will help in revolutionizing check transactions in the processing industry by speeding up the collection of checks, improving availability of funds, reducing fraud losses and lowering collection costs like never before. An effective check imaging system can easily transform one's check and statement handling into an advanced, efficient, fully integrated process that helps in developing the infrastructure needed for continued growth.
