The article discusses the pros and cons of alcohol consumption. Moderate alcohol intake increases high-density lipoprotein or good cholesterol and decreases blood clotting and insulin resistance which reduces the risk of heart disease. It also lowers the risk of Alzheimer's disease and diabetes. However, an excessive consumption of alcohol is toxic to the brain and may cause vitamin B deficiency and is closely related to increase risk of stroke and diabetes.
