ABSTRACT
The article presents 2005 year-end financial report and 2006 expectations of steel products manufacturers in the U.S. First, Nucor announced 2005 earnings of $1.31 billion. It expects a potential increase in its sheet business in the next two years. Second, United States Steel Corp. reported a 17 percent increase in its net income for the fourth quarter. It predicts improvement in flat-rolled shipments for the first-quarter of 2006. Last, Allegheny Technologies recorded sales of $894.4 million during the final quarter. It envisions strength in the aerospace, defense, chemical process, oil and gas, electrical energy and medical markets.
