ABSTRACT
The article discusses the findings of "Metal Center News" periodical's 2005 Sales Compensation Survey in the metal market in the U.S. The survey revealed that total average salary, commission and bonus for outside people reached $76,754 during the year. The study also measured sales efficiency of service centers by estimating their total sales department compensation cost as a percentage of 2005 annual sales. In addition, respondents predict that staffing in the industry will increase by 4.4 percent in 2006.
