ABSTRACT
This paper examines a translation error that took place in Ke-maleddin Mehmet Efendi's (d.1031/1621) Mawdû'ât al-'Ulûm. Since the translation of Kemaleddin Mehmet Efendi reversed the meaning of the origi-nal text, Miftâh alSa'âda written by Taşköprizâde (d.969/1561) and repre-sented al- Fîrûzâbâdî's view of ıbn al-'Arabî in total contrast, the matter does not remain just as a simple translation error. Having looked in to the original sources, the author identified grammatical errors that led translator to make such misjudgements in his translation and reached a different conclusion about alFîrûzâbâdî and ıbn al'Arabî.
