ABSTRACT
Canonical correlation analysis seeks to identify and quantify the associations between two variable sets. In the first part of the study, canonical correlation analysis is theoretically described. In the second part, relationship between social and economic indicators of The European Union is searched. Analysis point out that there are meaningful and strong relation-ship between social and economic indicators of The European Union. Moreover, all the canonical correlation coefficients calculated are statistically meaningful. It can be said that social indicators are statistically meaningful in explaining economic indicators, and vice versa.
