The article focuses on the benefits of the DemandAnalytX computer-assisted ordering system to Nederland, Texas-based grocery chain, Market Basket. The system helped Market Basket reduce store inventory. All products from Market Basket's main supplier were online with the system as of July 2004. Company president Skylar Thompson is planning to get produce and more of his meat items into the system.
