ABSTRACT
The article discusses the present position of the radioactive static eliminators for use in the textile industry. Radioactive static eliminators are too slow in action that it cannot cope up the industry's needs unless being strong, though it is dangerous and expensive while with electric, there is no limit in its speed. Yet, there are two advantages of the radioactive over the electric which can be applied under selected conditions such as it is free from the risk of combusting inflammable vapors and it is good for avoiding soiling due to static. One strong reason why radioactive has been eliminated is the risk they imposed on the health because of their radiation. The Ministry of Labour did not completely eliminate radioactive in use but has laid down rules hard enough to follow.
