ABSTRACT
The article reports on the collaboration between Freescale Semiconductor and IBM to become founding members of Power.org, a group focused on development around the IBM's Power processor. The two companies will collaborate in creating a common instruction set architecture, developing innovations to extend the Power processors and enabling Linux on the architecture. Information on the Power Architecture technology is also presented.
