ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline in the New York general business conditions index in January 2006 based on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Empire State Manufacturing Survey. A reading of about 22.0 for the current business condition index is predicted by the economists polled by IFR BondData America. Employment indexes were positive while, price indexes remained elevated.
