ABSTRACT
The article discusses the issue of exercise-associated muscle cramps (EAMC) and functional return to sport. There are a variety of circumstances like those that occur as a result of physical activity are termed EAMC, under which muscle cramps can occur. At an increased risk for EAMC, there might be athletes who are entering functional phases of sport rehabilitation. There is not much understanding of the cause of EAMC and has yet to be delineated. According to one theory, dehydration as a result of excessive sweating is the primary cause of EAMC.
