ABSTRACT
The article reports on the Executive Roundtable on Technology and the Independent Grocer held at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, California. Several issues related to grocer retailing are discussed at the roundtable. Specifically, the relations of the independent grocers such as Lamb's Market, Mollie Stone's Markets and Andronico's Market with the wholesaler Unified Western Grocers Inc. are highlighted. Standardization and outsourcing issues are also tackled.
