ABSTRACT
The article presents information on clinical observations of a 33-year-old woman with pleuritic chest pain and nonproductive cough. After chest radiography, a small focal consolidation was found in the right lung base. She also tested positive for pregnancy. After thorough examination, a purified protein derivative tuberculin skin test (PPD-TST) was performed. The patient was found positive for tuberculosis. The patient had to be placed in respiratory isolation. From these observations, it can be concluded that patients with positive PPD-TST results must be evaluated for TB infection and disease.
