ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the projects, in which efforts are being made by the international community including Great Britain, to tackle the legacy of defunct nuclear, chemical and biological facilities in Russia. The construction of a facility at Atomflot in Murmansk, where the fuel can be stored in special casks under safe and secure conditions is one of the projects being undertaken. This project is being managed by Crown Agents, which is a multi-disciplinary firm based at Sutton in Surrey.
