ABSTRACT
The article reports on the testing of Juniper's SSG 520, a security and routing platform that is the first result of the company's acquisition of NetScreen 21 months ago. The device supports T-3s and Gigabit Ethernet wide area network (WAN) ports. It is relatively inexpensive and could more than adequately meet the firewall, security and routing requirements of branch offices. Test results indicated that the device has fast speed and has the essential features of a firewall such as centralized management, deep-packet inspection and enterprise-class firewall characteristics. INSET: How we did it.
