Carpenter, Universal Raise Prices on Premium Melted Alloys

This article reports on the decisions taken by Specialty Alloys Operations unit of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania-based Carpenter Technology Corp. and Bridgeville, Pennsylvania-based Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. to increase the base prices of alloys. Carpenter raised base price by 10 percent on all premium-melted alloys on all new orders. On the other hand, Universal Stainless raised the base price on all premium melted steels consisting of vacuum-arc remelted and electro-slag remelted steels.
