ABSTRACT
The article discusses some of the practical tips found in "Preservation of Upper Limb Function Following Spinal Cord Injury," a clinical guideline released by the Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine for individuals with spinal cord injury and clinicians who work with them. The tips start by emphasizing the importance of education related to the risk of upper-limb pain and the need for regular evaluations geared toward minimizing risk. The suggestions draw heavily from the science of ergonomics. An example of an applicable ergonomics principle relates to the frequency of a task. INSET: Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine..
