ABSTRACT
The article describes some of the innovative spinal-cord injury and disease (SCI/D) research projects funded by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Research Foundation. Research conducted by David Shreiber at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has for its goal, an implantable therapy for SCI. A University of Washington team led by Philip Horner asks questions about stem cells and SCI. "Novel Gene Targets for Spinal Cord Regeneration" is led by Vance Lemmon of Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami.
