ABSTRACT
The article focuses on new food hygiene laws implemented by the British Food Standards Agency as of February 2006. The law classifies farmers as food producers. The premises for certain types of business need to be approved rather than registered including those producing meat, meat products and eggs. Food handlers must receive appropriate supervision and be instructed and/or trained in food hygiene.
