ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in the cost of the expansion project at the Jacob K. Javits Convention on Manhattan in New York City. New York state development officials attributed the increase on the rising construction costs and security demands. Legislators are pressuring Empire State Development Corp. at a hearing on the cost and design plans to expand the convention center's meeting and exhibition space.
