ABSTRACT
The article reports on fine paid by Richard Corey, former head of FHA/GMA Funding I Inc., to the United States Internal Revenue Service to settle a Section 6700 examination of his role in alleged abusive, arbitrage-driven zero-coupon bond deals according to Dechert LLP. Corey used to promote about a dozen zero-coupon bond deals int he early 1990s.
