ABSTRACT
The article reports on damage of vegetable crops due to Hurricanes in Florida. The vegetable industry suffered substantial damage to vegetable crops and infrastructure in 2005 due to Hurricanes in Florida in the second consecutive year. There was a severe damage to the vegetable industry in several counties from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast on Oct. 24, when Hurricane Wilma struck southern parts of Florida. The Hurricanes destroyed all the winter vegetable crops due to which there was inflationary price rise of the vegetable crops including peppers, green beans and squash.
