ABSTRACT
The article highlights the Taking Flight fashion show held during the Surface Design Association conference at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri in June 2005. It took off in high style and kept on soaring until the last of 63 inventive garments came down the runway. With the playfully painted baroqge interior of the theater, the event with environmental flair. Sponsors of the show were Hallmark Cards Inc., Thai Silks, Asiatica,Goldenstar, and Louisville Area Fiber and Textile Artists.
