ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's experience in designing her first quilt which eventually led to the launching of her own business in quilt making. According to her, the quilt was produced through the improvisational piecing method, a process of building each quilt block without patterns from the center out in an intuitive reactive way. She launched her business in 1996.
