ABSTRACT
The article reports on the poor performance of the high-yield bond market in the U.S. A financial expert claims that high yield is one of the most intriguing asset classes in the capital markets. According to the Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. Master High Yield Index, the high-yield returned only 2.73 percent in 2005. Factors affecting high-yield bonds include structural problems in mutual funds and close-end funds.
