ABSTRACT
The article informs that the public-safety answering points (PSAPs) in accordance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) phase 2 mandate now offers their services to 42.7% of the countries in the U.S. The National Emergency Number Association declared the publication of its i2 standard designed for voice-over-IP (VoIP) providers. Through this, the VoIP providers will be able to route emergency calls by E911 system without any need for changes by PSAP. Also, some VoIP providers are not able to comply with the FCC regulations.
