ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the initiative Opening the Book: A Strategy for a National Network for Equitable Public Library Services for Canadians with Print Disabilities. It provides for the enhancement of the existing library network in Canada to meet the needs of those who are print disabled. Canadian Library Association has proposed a National Coordinating Office for the initiative. Key responsibilities of the office include: fostering the development content in alternative formats; and advising libraries and publishers on best practices and accessible technologies and services.
