Public Library on Wheels: Helping Kids Discover Reading

The article looks at the success of Public Library on Wheels, a project that addresses the low literacy levels of children in disadvantaged families throughout Perth County, Ontario. The project have delivered preschool and toddler story-times, age-appropriate lending collections and knowledge-able staff to communities underserved by traditional library facilities. Locations have included community centers, a school gym, wellness clinics, a city park, churches, a housing complex, the local dragon boat race festival and the International Plowing Match.
