Bankers' Report: 'We're Won Over by Voice Over IP'

The article focuses on the implementation of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology by financial institutions. Although, the financial institutions have initially adopted it for saving money, they received several advantages apart from that. The experience of three financial institutions, namely, Sovereign Bank, Bank Midwest and El Dorado Savings Bank, in adoption of VoIP technology has been discussed. Sovereign Bank was able to expand aggressively from Pennsylvania into the mid-Atlantic region with the support of the VoIP conversion. Bank Midwest deploys VoIP to manage its customers, executives and vendors. El Dorado's adaptation of VoIP has boosted its productivity.
