The article asserts that the Czech Republic is trying to bring its laws into line with those of its new European Union partners, but still there are many rules which are more stringent. Currently a number of new bills and amendments are being prepared by the Czech government with the expectation that they will be passed during the next two to three years. The former incentive scheme for the manufacturing sector was simplified and extended by the Act on Investment Incentives. The regional and local governments support infrastructure constructions particularly in areas of high unemployment.
